Discovery

One Saturday morning I was completely indecisive - whether to go to private island to a wedding or stay in summer capital, where there was a wonderful concert in the evening. I looked for signs around me and the car number with a meaningful combination of numbers and letters seemed to say “Go To Private Island" based on the first loose connections, especially since DISCOVERY was written in large letters above the number plate of the car.

I went to the island and to the wedding, it was a great party and I really made some interesting discoveries there. And the concert was broadcasted in the national TV, so I could watch the concert later.

Avastus

Olin ühel laupäevahommikul täieliku otsustamatuse küüsis - kas minna Viirelaiule pulma või jääda Pärnusse, kus oli õhtul üks eeldatavasti väga imeline kontsert. Otsisin märke enda ümbert ja autonumber mulle tähendusliku numbrikombinatsiooni ja tähtedega KVJ tundus esimeste vabade seoste põhjal ütlevat “Käi Viirelaiul Jah”, seda enam, et auto numbritahvli kohale oli suurte tähtedega kirjutatud AVASTUS (DISCOVERY).

Läksin saarele ja pulma, oli äge pidu ja samas tõesti tegin huvitavaid avastusi ka. Ja kontserti sai hiljem õnneks ETVst järele vaadata.

Man & Woman

One of my summer traditions in is visiting the "Man & Woman" exhibition at the New Art Museum in Pärnu. There are always some aha-experiences and discoveries.

In the summer of the publication of my sixth novel, I was alone in Pärnu for a few days in June. Museum had moved, so I semi-randomly found the Woman & Woman exhibition at Pärnu Artists’ House, and I went to see the Man & Man exhibition at the Pärnu City Gallery extra the next morning. But I didn't find the new location of the museum (later I realized that I was looking for it at the wrong end of the street), so I went home that time. To a man with whom we had difficult times, so I preferred to spend time only in the company of women and he with other men.

In July, the day after the book launch party, we also traveled to Pärnu for a day. This time I found the museum’s new location beautifully, it turned out that it was right next to the bus station. And I watched and enjoyed the exhibition, subtitled "Estonian woman's power & spirit". Beautiful. And it all seemed symbolic, of course.

Mees & naine

Üks mu suviseid Pärnu traditsioone on Uue Kunsti Muuseumis näituse “Mees & Naine” külastamine. Sealt tuleb alati ka mingeid ahhaa-elamusi ja avastusi.

Mu Võru romaani ilmumise suvel olin juunis paar päeva üksi Pärnus. UKM oli kolinud, nii et leidsin pooljuhuslikult Kunstnike Maja Naine & Naine näituse ning Pärnu Linnagalerii Mees & Mees näitust käisin järgmisel hommikul ekstra vaatamas. Aga UKMi ei leidnud ma esimese hooga üles (hiljem sain aru, et otsisin seda Rüütli tänava valest otsast) ja nii ma siis tookord koju Võrru sõitsingi. Mehe juurde, kellega olid keerulised ajad, nii et eelistasingi vaid naiste seltskonnas aega veeta ja tema teiste meestega.

Juulis, järgmisel päeval pärast raamatu esitluspidu, sõitsime ka päevaks Pärnusse. Seekord leidsin UKMi uue pesa ilusasti üles, selgus, et see oli päris bussijaama kõrval. Ja vaatasin ja nautisin näitust, alapealkirjaga “Eesti naise võim & vaim”. Kaunis. Ja tundus sümboolne muidugi.

Under the right tree

School ended and I was back living my 100% writer’s life again for the first day. When I opened Facebook, the first thing I saw was a picture posted by a friend of a dog under a tree and a cat on top of a tree, with the text "Barking under the right tree", it seemed like a pretty good sign. :)

Õige puu all

Kool sai läbi ja elasin esimest päeva jälle oma 100% kirjanikuelu. Nii et kui nägin Facebooki avades esimesena sõbranna pandud pilti koerast puu all ja kassist puu otsas, tekstiga “Haugub õige puu all”, tundus see päris hea märk. :)

What a feeling!

I saw a poster with a big-winged, dark-headed female angel laughing for joy and the text "What a feeling!" for the first time the day my new novel came out. A week later, when I found myself in the capital again, I met it again, and it continued to delight and reflect the feeling inside me.

Milline tunne!

Nägin plakatit rõõmust hõiskava suurte tiibadega tumedapäise naisingli ja tekstiga “Milline tunne!” esimest korda sel päeval, kui mu uus romaan ilmus. Nädal hiljem uuesti pealinna sattudes kohtusin sellega uuesti ja see rõõmustas ja peegeldas mu sees olevat tunnet jätkuvalt.
